After a successful debut event, Gonna Need Milk is back with a frosty online tournament.
The Milk Cup, after its debut tournament at Los Angeles Comic Con, is returning for a second run this winter with a different format and all-online competition.
After the $250,000 Milk Cup at LA Comic Con, the organizers have returned with a $50,000 online tournament, called The Milk Cup Winter Split. It will feature two qualifiers whittling the field of competitors down to one lobby for the finals.
In contrast to the first Milk Cup and its format of trios and build battle royale, the Milk Cup Winter Split will be duos and Zero Build battle royale.
The open qualifier will take place on November 13 at 7 PM EST, with open signups. The qualifier will host concurrent lobbies and feature a broadcast similar to NFL Red Zone, switching between lobbies to follow the action.
The closed qualifier will take place on December 9 at 7 PM EST, which will shrink the field of competitors further, down to 50 duos ready to compete in the finals.
The finals will take place a week later, on December 16 at 7 PM EST, with the top 50 teams from Qualifier 2 duking it out with $50,000 on the line.
The tournament will take place completely online, with matches being streamed on twitch.tv/erena, among other channels yet to be announced.
