With a 3–0 victory in North America’s Series 1, Shopify Rebellion has collected their third regional title in four appearances.
With North America seeing a massive reshuffle of talent in the off-season, new teams were formed to try to take the regional crown away from the reigning world champions, Shopify Rebellion.
Despite dropping maps to FlyQuest RED and Passion Project earlier in Series 1, Shopify Rebellion proved to be at their best when it mattered, taking down FlyQuest RED in the grand finals with a perfect 3–0.
The series began on Lotus, with Shopify showing out on their way to a 13–4 victory behind a 22–8 performance from florescent. Shopify would only lose two rounds after dropping the initial pistol and bonus rounds.
The series then pivoted to Sunset, which would be FlyQuest’s selection. Both halves would end tied, 6–6 at the swap and 12–12 at the end of regulation, and after two overtimes, Shopify again stood victorious, 15–13, despite StarBound’s 27–16–13 performance on Cypher.
FlyQuest, fighting for their lives in the series, would have to take Shopify down on one of their strongest maps, Icebox. However, although they were able to take a 8–6 lead, Shopify Rebellion hit the gas pedal once more, steaming ahead to a 13–10 victory, taking the map, and the series, 3–0.
With this victory, Shopify Rebellion captures its fourth championship, three coming in North America and one from the 2023 Game Changers Championship.
